Ready, Set .....

There he goes! It didn't take long for Matthew to master crawling. He had a few days of going between the army crawl and crawling on hands and knees but now he's got it. He has also mastered pulling himself up to stand using anything and everything, including me. And, if all of that wasn't enough, he uses the furniture to walk. He just turned 8 months only 4 days ago. As with his entire life, including when in my belly, he does not read manuals or text books about when he should be doing this that and everything else. I also apply that statement to eating food. He does not like food, dramatically gags with every bite, therefore I don't push it on him yet. We will keep trying until he learns how to eat.

It is only a matter of time before my little dare devil walks on his own. Matthew is very thoughtful about every step. He first measures the distance in his mind, puts out a hand to see if he can reach. If he can't, he takes another careful step forward, put his hand out again to check if he's close enough. He moved along the side of the couch the other day as if he was walking along a cliff edge. He was fearful yet kept going, making sure each hand hold was secure, each foothold was in place before moving on. Apparently he applied this same concept to climbing the stairs last week. I wasn't home, but Kyle was there to closely supervise this amazing feet. He said when Matthew's feet or knees slipped off of a step, he held onto the step above for dear life with both hands. What a strong and brave little dude. We have many more adventures like this to look forward to, also a few more scrapes and bruises.

He is crawling SO much sooner than Evan did.

I really dig his "I'll do it on my own time frame, thanks mom" attitude. Makes him a little rebel. Yep, I think you'll have to be a stock pile of cool bandaids on hand. ;)
